This portrait was a fascinating process, using my imagination and hands to see who would be ‘born’ before my eyes!
I worked fast and loose and loved the raw emotion of the result, the female face that appeared had such immense strength as she emerged from the charcoal, a lively powerful spirit came through.
My love of monochrome truly holds me in it’s spell and charcoal has a life and soul all of it’s own, I hope this expressive face says something to your soul.
