‘Fields of Gold’ Original Canvas Painting of a Woman.
This painting was inspired by something I absolutely love, Kintsugi.
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold so that the cracks are visible, embracing all the flaws and imperfections & therefore creating an even stronger, more beautiful piece for having been broken.
I believe we are all flawed, imperfect, a little broken or fragile and as I created her, in my mind I felt this beautiful carefree young lady was scattering the pigments of gold for us to use as we mend or heal, these vulnerable little breaks are what make us all so individual.
*This Painting of a Woman on Canvas has not been glazed with a protective acrylic medium because I wanted the pigments of ‘liquid gold’ paint I used sparingly to shine through as delicate highlights and they do catch the light beautifully, they positively glisten and glow!
Please note : I do NOT recommend hanging any painting in an environment which is prone to high humidity or heat.
