‘Dress Rehearsal – Dancing Hibiscus’

A delicate piece, this is a charcoal and pastel drawing in pale pastel hues and soft shades of grey with accents and highlights of soft and bright whites created on pale grey recycled paper.

 

This gentle, emotive drawing of a graceful young ballerina has a light as a feather ethereal feeling. As she is tying the ribbons on her pointe shoe, her fragile tulle gossamer dress is splayed delicately around her, giving the overall imaginary appearance of a beautiful hibiscus flower ready to blossom onto the stage.

Please note: I do NOT recommend hanging any painting in an environment which is prone to high humidity or heat.
